I got this for my fiance for his birthday and he plays it all the time. We have friends over to play it and his 7 year-old even mastered the drums. This is way better than guitar hero and it is something the whole family can enjoy. The song selection is pretty good. There are a few I wouldn’t have picked, but I am sure some people dig them. Most of the songs are great and it definitely gives you a variety of songs to help you grasp a range of musical and gaming ability. We got the PS2 version so we could use our Guitar Hero guitar with the game. I love that you can use other guitars with it. Well worth the money. I got mine gift wrapped in a big blue bag, which was good because the box was a little ripped and he was trying to peek at his present. He was convinced I got him a tarp or a tent.

I live in Brazil, a very hot country, and my last Xbox 360 died because of overheating. I now have a Xbox 360 Elite and I am using the Intercooler since the first day of use and so far everything is perfect. I feel the difference touching the top of the Xbox, it’s still hot, but a lot less then without the Intercooler. Great product.

Cortana is cool, and every Halo nerd wants one on his shelf. But this may fall short of cool. First, the led lights beam at her, not through her. which does fails to properly illuminate Cortana. Second, the plastic has seams and irregularities that show up when the lights are on. this takes coolness away (for me anyways) from the smart and sexy Cortana that we all love. But you get what you pay for, as they say. And this is what you get.
Customer Review: Everyone’s favorite Hologram
There isn’t too much you can do with a figure of a hologram. Since there can’t be any real articulation this toy is basically a statue. But it is a good one, and since there are not joints or moving parts it has some great detail and a nice layout. There are three LEDs in the base that give her a nice blue glow, which is a nice feature. the switch is on the bottom of the stand though which means you have to turn the figure over to turn it on, which isn’t bad or hard, just a fact. Being made of plastic the durability on this toy is fine, so long as you stick it on your shelf and don’t fool with it too much. A heavy hand, or a child, would have no problem breaking little Cortana into a couple pieces.

Okay so we own all three of the new consoles, and this one hardly ever gets used. I mean I guess if you’re a teenage boy and a hardcore gamer then I would say you might like it. Plus this was the most expensive system. It was $350 for the system, $75 for the wi fi, $50 for Xbox Live (per year), I think it was like $80 for the HD DVD add on and it only has a 20GB hard drive what gives with that? Plus the HD DVD add on is useless now. The fun you get out of this system does not justify the cost of it. When I was researching this on the internet I would always read about how it has the most games, to be honest it does have the most games but it also has the worst games I’ve ever played. Most of the games for the Xbox 360 are first shooter games and I hate those. Plus I hate having to worry about getting the RROD every time I turn it on. It also gets extremely hot. My Wii and PS3 never get as hot as the 360. I’m sorry, but I cannot recommend this console to others.

If you’re looking to play online multiplayer games, buy the 360. Xbox Live is far beyond anything Sony and Nintendo have at the moment. As for hardware issues, I’ve had my 360 since Nov. 2006, and it’s been solid as a rock. I’ve shipped it, moved it, even dropped it. Maybe I’m just lucky, but don’t pay attention to the 1 star naysayers. The 360 has the best collection of games of all the current systems. I feel like the controller is better than the PS3’s (something that should not be overlooked).

I enjoy games and love games like call of duty 4, but dont spend all my time on them, but the people who play this game tend to have played it all day everyday. its very difficult to get better when as soon as you enter a game, you get killed almost instantly. i dont understand how people learn to get so good if you dont get a chance to learn!? It may just be me i guess judging by the other reviews. but if you are like me and are just a guy who plays games when he is tired from work or too lazy to go out, then it will just be frustrating for you. the game play is brilliant, if there was a chance to actually have a shot a surviving it. When playing with mates multiplayer split screen its great. its alot more enjoyable. I just wish they had a virtual players where you can adjust the difficulty level. another thing is people on use the bluetooth headset and can be just rude to you when you loose which is uncalled for, coz they think there better than you coz you dont spend hours and hours playing games which is unessacary and makes it that bit worse and less fun playing. I bought my 360 Elite on 27/12/07, and so far have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with it. I’m completely satisfied with it. It might be a little noisier than other consoles I’ve owned, but no more than the average home PC, and when you consider the similarities between the two, it’s easy to dismiss the noise. Besides, it’s not jet-engine loud, it’s more of a low hum. I work for an electrical goods store, and the Premium model we have running on our display there has been there since the day the console was first released, and that has not developed any problems either. The thing both these machines have in common is that they are given plenty of room to breathe, and by that I don’t mean “make sure you don’t stack other electrical devices on top of it”, I mean they both have a lot of clear space around the intakes. One of the technicians I’ve spoken to reckons the majority of the time he examines a machine with the Red Ring Of Death, the guts of the machine come out looking like ashtrays. Is that Microsoft’s fault? No. Do NOT smoke around electrical devices. Especially not ones that have fans designed to draw in cool, smoke-free air. You are just asking for trouble, even when you consider the fact that Microsoft now has a 3 year instant replacement policy in place from date of purchase. Treat your machine like the piece of specialised equipment it is, and you should be fine.

Customer Review: Excellent Tool To Improve French
I bought this for myself to use on my son’s DS Lite to brush up my school learnt French some twenty odd years ago. It tests you at first to see what lesson to start you on. You read about how to write French and translate English into French before inserting words into sentences, find words in word searches, hit moles on the head that have the right word wrote on them and answer multi choice questions. The words are said in French which helps you to hear how you should pronounce it. Each time you do a lesson or a game you are awarded points, when you attain enough points, ie show you understand the words/lesson the next lesson opens up. This is a fun way to brush up on French or to use an ancilliary aid for the kids learning French at school. I would definitely buy it if my sons were in secondary school or even in primary to give them a head start. I definitely recommend it for those wanting to learn a language, brush up on a language or for kids to help them at school. The main thing it is fun but you are learning at the same time.

A real missed opportunity here! The basic concept is OK. Repetition helps in language learning and a little fun helps you learn without getting too bored. Unfortunately these games won’t keep you interested for too long. When it comes to content this game has the same FATAL error as My French Coach 2 - it tries to teach vocabulary without giving you gender and so only does half the job and makes it impossible to even simple gramatical construction without recourse to an ordinary paper dictionary. It should have been very easy to include un/une in the dictionary and in all the vocab lessons (or even to do it subliminally with colour) - but it seems that no one associated with this project has pointed this out! The best thing about this Level 1 version is that it DOES (unlike Level 2, the Vocab trainer) include good pronunciation files. Neverthless the omission of Gender suggests that you should spend your money elsewhere (especially if this games is one of your main reasons for buying a DS as it was in my case!).

Zoo Tycoon is a pretty good adaption of the PC game to the DS format. The tracking is kinda slow, you can’t zoom out enough for a decent overview, the sound FX are limited and you will get serious eyestrain with the small graphics. BUT, and it is a big BUT, this game is just as addictive as the PC format. You will have hours of fun building your zoo and keeping both animals and guest happy, and you will delight in problem busting when things need tweaking as the game progresses. Overall, this is a great game which is perfect when you can’t play the full PC version and you’d like that great, addictive hit that this game brings. That’s how I look at it. Well worth a buy for most DS game collections.

I LOVE the PC versions of Zoo Tycoon and Zoo Tycoon 2 (I have all the expansions) so when I got my DS I was really pleased to see I could have a transportable version of the game. Safe to say I was disappointed. I played it a couple of times, found it limited and tiny. The grid was VERY annoying as you couldn’t see where you were putting ground types down and overall it just pales into insignificance compared to the PC versions. It has sat on the shelf since the day after I bought it and will stay there until I trade it in!

3DO’s famous little green men are back in Army Men Advance and this time they’re invading the Game Boy Advance. Once again General Plastro, the leader of the tan army, attempts world domination, having enlisted the help of powerful aliens. Gamers choose either the stalwart Sarge or the vivacious Vikki to thwart Plastro.

The game plays like a classic overhead-view shooter. The controls are simple, although strafing with the shoulder button takes some getting used to. Gameplay consists entirely of shooting enemies, finding objects and unlocking doors. It’s a wonderfully simple formula that will appeal to gamers of all ages.

It’s far from a perfect game though. The graphics pale in comparison to other Game Boy Advance launch titles–the early levels look particularly dull. The developers opted for assigning passwords after each level, rather than letting players save their progress on the cartridge. Customer Review: Im not the target market for this game
Having bought my GBA on the day of release the choice of games was quite low, not as huge as its getting at present. I brought Army Men and having played it realised that there should have been a warning on the box. Nintendo are famed for aiming thier systems at the 5-18 yr old market excluding those gamers those older gamers. Army men is set in this young market, for those that enjoy simplicity and cannot fully use the GBA (such as my Nan). If you want a good, absorbing game then dont buy this..in fact only buy this if you have a 4 yr old brother who has just got a GBA for a birthday..it took me 2 days to finish before I exchanged it for the mighty Tony Hawks, it however will take a little un a little longer.

As was said in other reviews this device is lightly built. However for what it has to do it feels solid enough. I only paid nine pounds including post and it is surely worth that. After twenty or thirty minutes game play there is a noticable wram draft coming from the fans and its helped clear up my freezing problems. All in all I would recommend this it seems the best of a poor bunch!
Customer Review: It’s not fancy, but it does the trick…
After I got hit by the three red lights of doom I decided to invest in a cooling fan to hopefully prevent this from happening again. I chose the Logic3 Cooling Fan mainly because of the price but also due to the fact I hadn’t found any reports of the fan melting like other similar products. I recieved the fan yesterday and so far I’m happy with it, I do however have two concerns which brought my rating down to three stars. The first is how flimsy the product looks and feels, it doesn’t have a very solid feel and I was worried in case I broke it taking it out the packaging! The second is how hot the fan gets, the amount of heat it throws out the back isn’t a bad thing (at least it’s working properly) but after approx an hour it was getting worryingly over-heated. On the whole its not a bad piece of kit, I didn’t think it was too noisy, the console itself was definitely cooler and when I changed games the disk didn’t give me third degree burns on my fingers when I took it out.

Customer Review: Disappointment
Much as the film ended up some what disappointing in comparrison with its peers this game also brought a sense of regret in purchaing it. I have always been an X-men fan so even though I wasnt expecting miracles, I still imagined this title might amuse me. However this game failed on a number of levels. 1 Each level is quite short and yet individually rather than presenting entertainment each seemed a chore as the controls are unresponsive and fiddly in achieving the goals you hope to achieve. On other occasions you might blindly find success for no apparent reason. A perfect example is an Iceman level where you have to escape the level in a set time. It is difficult and if you hit a barrier you may get trapped or turned round a couple of times and you will no longer no whether you are headed in the right direction or not. So when you fail you start right at the beginning again. However on my third attempt when hitting the barrier I put the controlled down giving up. The iceman absolutely uncontrolled then kept going completing the level without me. Whilst I am not a great player I still put this down to poor design. When success is achieved all you are rewarded with are cut scenes that are made up of odd scenes that are not fully animated or just stills but rather a hotch potch of slightly animated comic book like slides with full audio. The graphics arent that bad but arent up to the standards of other 360 titles. Overall this is an absolute disappointment especially given Activision can usually do far better. Only buy if cheap or a masochist.

I really enjoyed playing this game from beginning to end. I loved the game-play, and how mostly every object interacted with your character. For example you can slide across a dining cart in slow motion. I also enjoyed all the awesome “moves” he can do. Example: when you click the up arrow you get to pick a exact place on someone’s body, and it’ll shoot right there. Small things like this make this game a must buy.

At first i was dissapointed that it was in 2d something which i was no longer used to, but i did get over it and started to enjoy the game. It had a good story and good video clips but i did find at the end it was quite frustrating that i couldnt get past a certain level. In the end i completed this game in about 5hrs which in my opinion is a bit rubbish really it didnt even last half a day! An ok game but nothing special.

There were no reviews for this game posted when I bought it, but having been nagged for several days I went ahead and took the plunge. As with so many GBA games I was worried the game would be played with for 10 minutes then regulated to the bedroom floor. This new Noddy game seems to be a hit, although I must stress I don't think older children (over 6) will find the game much fun. The easy level took about 45 minutes to complete but strangely enough the game seems colourful enough to warrant several replays at this level. The normal level takes a bit longer. I tried the normal level myself and the one down side I found was the driving, Noddy's car drives like a 2CV on ice. But all in all the game has kept the kids busy and they seem to enjoy it, so I've awarded the game 5 stars on their behalf.

Super Mario World for the SNES sits at or near the top of most “best videogame” lists for a reason. At the time of its release it was a dramatic evolution of the side-scrolling Mario series of action-adventure games, incorporating every gameplay element that worked in the older titles while adding a seemingly endless supply of new tricks. This new feature-complete version for the Game Boy Advance proves just how timeless designer Shigeru Miyamoto’s 1990 classic really is.

In true Miyamoto fashion, the game starts with simple running and jumping and gradually gets more complex. Soon you’re swimming, flying, tossing fireballs, and riding one of several Yoshis–cute little dinosaurs–that appear throughout the game. The overall level design has yet to be exceeded in a 2-D platformer, with each colourful level packed with enough secrets to keep players busy for weeks. A lot of precision jumping is required, but the controls are so tight that directing Mario (or even Luigi, who wasn’t playable in the original) becomes as natural as breathing within a few minutes of playing.

As if packing the entire original game onto the tiny cartridge wasn’t enough, Nintendo have also included two multiplayer versions of the original Mario Bros, which are playable solo or with up to three other people using Game Link cables to connect all your Game Boy Advance systems. Both variants are a blast, but the single-player adventure is what kept us coming back for more. This is quite easily one of the best Mario games and probaly the best game on the GBA out now, You start with guess what the princess being captured out on an outing. This time you can play as either Mario or Luigi with both of the brothers have separate abilites and not Just matching outfits! So the Princess gets captured while on a Hot Air balloon Trip and Mario and Luigi go over to Entertain them-selves, when they get back she Is gone! There Is a whole map of the area you will be playing through which you can see after the Intro section. You start on Yoshis Island and realise all the Yoshis are gone and have been Imprisoned In certain areas which you can retrieve them while scrolling along the platforms. The Graphics are Great on this as you go by and the Enemies are good too! A lot more are Involved In this such as Fire Balls, Dino things, certain strange Fish. Basically loads but I cannot remember all of them, when you complete It though you get a Whole anime Video of all of them. Another ending after too…. The Best aspect is all of the Levels, I think there are 96 secret levels and exits in the game, I also have completed this 100% but the game Is an absolute Joy to play, various parts form as you progress and Unlock Secreted Exits. The music Is Great to, from the cool Vanilla dome music to the strange Illusion Forest. Replay Value Is great as really you cannot complete the game after Bowser, you can get all of the Five Yoshi Headed Coins In Levels and all of the Switch Palace. [The Yoshi End is Truly charming!] Big Wide Map, with plenty of Exits and hidden areas (Red) , lots of exciting Enemies, cool pick-ups Feather, ability to Fly, also the Original Power Flower and Mushroom. This Is Yoshi’s first outing, and could not be more Inviting!! The dinosaurs come In a Variety of colours each with their own abilities, My Favourite being Blue Yoshi. Some Levels Even require Yoshis help to get through, but there Is no hindurance Involved with him. Easily as the End of GBA Era ends, [I know about the New Format to take over DS] It Is the BEST game on the Game Boy Advance Console. I would also recommend the other Mario titles for Advance Series. I bought this on a whim while getting halo 3, and I have to say it’s one of my smarter decisions. It snaps onto the controller with minimal force, and doensn’t go anywhere. it’s perfect for typing text messages real fast. I am the only one of my friends who types names and descriptions for my halo 3 film clips and screen shots because I have this device. It comes with an improved headset, also, that plugs into the bottom of the chatpad. It, unfortunately, is not compatible with other xbox 360 wired headsets, but the one it comes with has better reception anyway. My only concern is the in-line volume and on/off switch. It wouldn’t work in the same place anyway with the chatpad there, but it can be slightly frustrating. I have noticed, however, that it is sensitive with sound, and you can whisper and make quiet noises without the mic picking it up, which is good if you like to talk to team mates during an online game, and don’t have time to flick the switch. If you do not have a headset for your xbox 360, I would recommend buying this instead; it comes with a very good headset, and it includes the chatpad, which seamlessly, and near weightlessly, makes messaging a whole lot easier

In a nutshell:
The portable phenomenon that has taken Japan by storm finally hits the UK. Part puzzle game, part self improvement tool this is the only game that’s both lots of fun and good for you - and that’s before you even start on Sudoku!

The lowdown:
Nothing about this game is ordinary, from the price to the way you hold the DS while playing it (vertically, as if you were reading a book). The basic idea is that you play through a series of puzzles each day, for about 10 minutes, and at the end of each session the “age” of your brain is calculated. The puzzles themselves range from simple maths questions to spot the difference, memorisation and comprehension. All of the answers are inputted either by drawing the answer on the touchscreen or speaking it into the DS’s in-built microphone. There’s also a multiplayer mode for up to 15 people where you can try and compete to record the youngest brain age.

Most exciting moment:
A brand new addition to the game, not included in the Japanese version, is a special DS version of Sudoku. This works great on the DS’s touch screen and is worth the already low price of admission on its own.

Since you ask:
A sister title to Brain Training, named Big Brain Academy, is due for release in July and offers to “weigh” your brain and improve specific skills such as memorisation and analysis. A direct sequel to Brain Training has also been released in Japan but is not yet scheduled for released in the UK.

The bottom line:
The only game that really is for the whole family - from kids to OAPs.

Customer Review: Honestly - it’s good!
I got this game in January. I really enjoy playing the different games. You have to unlock certain games, like for e.g. there is a game called ’syllable count’, where you have to count how many syllables there are in different sentences. There is also another game called ‘calculations X20′ where you have 20 different sums to answer as quickly and as accurately as you can. The sums are easy, so one of them might be ‘ 8+4 ‘ e.t.c. There are lots of different games, which is one thing that’s good about it. Altogether, I would highly reccommend this game.

I’ve only had this game a couple of weeks but I’m really enjoying it. It certainly does exercise those grey cells and is very addictive. The only down side is the voice recognition where you have to speak out the colours. Even when I speak loudly and clearly it will often not recognise what I’ve said. Apart from that it’s a great game and is great for children and adults alike.

Resistance: Fall of Man (PS3)
In the end it will probably be to the benefit of European gamers that the PS3 was delayed, since it will give Sony the chance to put together a much more impressive line-up of launch games than greeted the console in America and Japan. Resistance was easily the best of the U.S. launch games - a first person shoot `em-up from the creators of Ratchet & Clank. The game’s story is based around an alternate version of World War II where instead of Nazis you’re facing off against the insect-like Chimera in a war torn Britain (naturally you’re playing an American though). It’s basically Call Of Duty meets Doom.

The game doesn’t use the tilt sensors of the Sixaxis controller for movement but it does demonstrate the improved build quality of the analogue sticks, which previously made first person shooters difficult on the PS2. The tilt sensors are used in a variety of secondary roles though, such as when you have to shake off a monster or if you get set on fire. Despite the faux WWII setting, most of the game’s weapons are fantastical and, as with Ratchet & Clank, are probably the highlight of the whole game. All have secondary fire modes, from grenade launchers to homing bullets. The armour piercing Auger for example, also doubles as a shield. There are also vehicle based sections, including a particularly fun ride in an almost indestructible tank.

Although the single player game is well above average, the criticism about the sometimes generic art and design are not entirely without foundation. Thankfully this is compensated by an excellent forty person online mode - a huge achievement for a launch game and a very good sign for future online PS3 games.

Note: I have not yet played COD 4! I’ve been playing this after getting it at the end of last week because I thought I’d take advantage of this game being priced at the budget end for ps3 games (good to see prices falling). First point then, the price represents good value at 20 even if the game is not outstanding. After playing UT3 for a few weeks this naturally felt slow and after playing uncharted i felt slightly miffed at the half-baked regenerative health system and complete lack of cover. When in a fight with the chimera you have to resort to time crisis duck and shoot tactics or just get in their faces and strafe round them. It’s pretty annoying to do the latter and then get battered by another 5 or 6 hidden round the corner. the game seems very gung ho but you need an element of stealth and that is frustrating in a FPS game. Otherwise, if you can get past some relatively minor niggles the game plays well and the chimera are easy to hate which makes it satisfying to blow them away. Overall, good value for money but bear in mind this game is roughly 7/10.

I’ve just bought myself the PS3 after been hit with the 3-rings of death of XBOX. God I loved my XBOX and suddenly that problem happened. To my surprise and contrary to my thoughts, the PS3 resulted waaay much better than expected. Super stylish, more sturdy, and by far less noiser than my XBOX (not to mention the Blue-ray and power potential with 7core processors). Anyway, back to the Game. Fortunately, I bought myself CALL of Duty 4 together with this. There is no way to compare. Although this game (Resistance) could be considered fun, it is way out of the league of what you should expect from a PS3 platform. Again, if you are into FPS, do not even consider this game. Just put a bit more of your pocket and go straight to Call of Duty 4. Simply amazing. The rest is all said. Hope it helps. (and once again, my thumps up for SONY, they did a really good job with PS3 and after such dissappointment with Microsoft, they certainly deserve the rewards.

This case is really good for those with a PS3 on the go. I like how the design has the PS3 sitting separate from the rest of your accessories; to prevent scratching, abrasions and such. The way it was advertised made it sound as if there was a ton of room. Don’t get me wrong, I can comfortably fit 4 controllers, cords, and discs galore, I just thought it was a little bigger. All in all, this is a great product with room for everything but the kitchen sink. I still wouldn’t recommend playing from the case however, the PS3 just runs too hot to have anything preventing optimal airflow.

Firstly, i dont own the product, heres why, i have played 8hrs straight without any fan. and my ps3 is as healthy as ever. so why? manufacturers seem too have us confused with a certain xbox 360 “red ring of death” problem. think you need a fan? take it from me you don’t. look at the other guy, the manufacterur prmises “peace of mind” yet it melts his ps3. noboody dhould consider this. get yourself a game instead.

Hold on a minute here, I don’t get this, why are people buying cooling fans for their PS3’s? Does the PS3 have any heat issues? Listen, you are all voiding your warranties by adding these cooling fans to your PS3’s and xBox 360’s! Whats even worse is that most of them don’t help cool your consoles at all, if anything there have been reports where consoles have over heated and even melted as a result of using these cooling fans. I will not talk about the xBox 360 as most people already know about its heating issues, but the PS3 is very well made and has a really good cooling system! You’ll notice that your PS3 releases a lot of heat, most people get worried by this but this is a good thing. This is an indication that the PS3’s fans and other internal cooling systems are doing their job. Imagine if it didn’t and all that heat was retained inside the PS3 even for 10 minutes? The PS3 would shut off automatically and if it didn’t then it would melt! So its bloody good that it does release a lot oh heat. If it didn’t then I’d be worried if I were you! I’ve not yet heard of one complaint from anyone about the PS3 having heating issues and I would never use these cooling fans as they are made by third party companies and are not Sony approved. If PS3’s had a heating issue then its up to Sony to fix this. When you fork out something between ?300-430 for a gaming console, you should not have to buy cooling fans to keep the bloody thing cool! Anyway enough rumbling. The main thing here is that you will void your warranty if your system gets damaged as a result of using these cooling fans. Just MAKE SURE you keep the PS3 in a well ventilated area away from heaters etc. DONT place your PS3 inside TV cabinets etc, where there’s more likely to be less ventilation. And you shall not have any issues with the PS3. *** The new 40GB PS3 now has a 65nm cell processor instead of the 90nm cell processor used in the 60GB PS3’s. This means that the 40GB PS3 will require less energy to run which means less heat, which in turn means less noise. I’ve got a 60GB PS3 and my friend has the newer 40GB one, and his is super quiet and doesn’t seem to release much heat at all, unlike mine which is a bit more noisier than his and releases about twice the heat I’d say. Sony say that the 40GB PS3 is about 30% more efficient than the 60GB PS3. At the end of the day, its better technology, latest technology and that’s the way forward and so I shall follow. No backwards compatibility with PS2 games do I hear you say? Did you not have a PS2 before you bought the PS3 I reply! PS2 games will be extinct not so long from now!***
