Customer Review: my health coach good and bad points
I waited for 5 days after I got this game before I wrote my review so I was sure of all its components before I wrote the review. I don’t want to dwell to much on negative points as other reviewers have mentioned the same but you may only read one review and its important. Firstly only one person can use this game as it can only store data for one person. Secondly its not developed for the UK market too many American terms , especially irritating when you are doing the quizzes and listing your food. Now for the positive, as a foot note I am totally into any gadgets to do with exercise, I have worn a pedometer for years, have a heart rate monitor and have also recently purchased a wii fit. I thought I knew everything thing there was to know on this subject, and I have scored high on the quizzes but have got questions wrong as well. What I really like so far it has identified my problem areas mainly that I don’t eat a good balanced diet and subsequently has taken points off me for this (rightly so). I also like the fact it worked out my BMI first and told me I did not need to lose weight with a BMI of 22.5 which is totally correct but the wii fit constantly tells me I need to have a BMI of 22 to be truly fit which is rubbish! Overall this is a first class game even with its faults and as I have done some personal training I will be recommending it to some of my friends I think its got enough to motivate you and certaily a good aid for somebody who is trying to lose weight (you can track your progress with a graph) or do more exercise. If you like the brain train this is the game for you, in the same league.
Customer Review: Could be adjusted slightly for the UK market
The food choices in this game are really based on American culture more than British, for instance there is no “English Breakfast” in the breakfast options (or elsewhere) but there is pancakes for breakfast. This is not the only example. In general the food choices are rather more limited than desirable. Apart from that its rather fun and I think it (so far) does motivate one.

Customer Review: X BOX 360 XMAS disappointment
This box malfuntioned straight out of the packaging. The start up screen never appeared. On reboot it did but the box malfuntioned continually after that with games crashing out or screen freezing after variable amounts of time sometimes 5 minutes other 35 minutes. This was on Xmas day after it was given as a Xmas present - how much disappointment there was. It culminated with the red lights of doom signifying the box had indeed died. I now have to wait until January 2nd for a pick up - who can guess when the repacement will arrive? 3rd January 2008 - good service - hop it works this time.

Sonic Heroes (PS2) Just as some actors never made the jump from the silent screen to talkies, so too Sonic the Hedgehog has never really seemed at home in 3-D. Sonic Heroes, though, is the best attempt yet to simulate the fast, uncomplicated thrills of the 2-D Mega Drive days on this generation’s shiny new consoles.

Sonic Heroes is basically the action segments from Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 stripped of all the insanely dull pseudo RPG elements but unfortunately still containing far too much storyline and the largest and least interesting host of secondary characters ever seen in gaming. Sonic Heroes also inherits many of the older titles’ camera and control problems, although here they are now occasional rather than constant irritations.

All this may seem as if it’s painting a rather poor picture of the game, but despite all its problems Sonic Heroes is actually a lot of fun. Its main gimmick is that you actually control three characters at a time, with each one having a special ability of either speed, flight or the ability to smash through blocks. Thankfully this doesn’t overcomplicate the controls and instead adds a modicum of depth to the otherwise non-stop running-’n'-jumping action.

You still occasionally get the feeling that the game is trying too hard to fit a round peg in a square hole, but on balance more of it works than doesn’t, and it’s certainly the best Sonic title since the Mega Drive era. –David Jenkins

The Gameplay is very confusing still fun though, but switching from character to character to do different moves is confusing and sometimes it picks the one you don’t want

The Controls are ok i guess, but overall the worst thing is the story, and the game is rather easy(Except Dark)

But overall this game is for Sonic Beginners, Sonic Experts will hate it, but after all these bad reviews, Experts i’m going to still recommend you, you might/might not like it.

Customer Review: Sonic Heroes
This game is ok. I like the character voice overs and the sound effects but it has dodgy graphics and crazy camera angles. When you put this together the game is a bit crap. Plus all of the storylines are weak and short and are a bit rushed. The game was a good idea but when it comes down to it, it is poor and gets boring way two quickly. There is also a very annoying opening soundtrack which is lame and takes the micky a bit. Overall the game is not one to go out and buy, if you got given it for free, by all means enjoy it, or try to!

Customer Review: One Game To Rule Them All
LOTR:The Third Age is one of the few strategy games for the GBA and in my opinion it is very repetative, but surprisingly addictive. I like the way you can choose whether you want to be good or evil and you can choose who you want fighting for you. This game brings the whole Trilogy into one and has plenty of levels to keep you entertained for hours. A must buy, especially for hardcore Tolkien fans!

Customer Review: Rather mediocre…
+ Nintendo DS sized, and therefore you get lots of spares for you money and can easily be cut down to size for other devices (i used for a digial camera screen) - I thought, perhaps stupidly, that you would get 12 screen protectors for a Nintendo DS ie 12 pairs, but of course you only get 12 total, 6 big, 6 smaller. They are also not the sticky type (as you can get), but use static to keep them on the screen so are rather thick and also v difficult to get all the air bubbles out. I’d spend more and get some good quality ones…..

Customer Review: Great Game; Best Baseball Game Out There
If you have been wondering which baseball game is the game you should buy, the MLB The Show Series is definitely the way to go. I was a big fand of 07 and am a big fan of 08 as well. The beautiful details, the life-like representations of players, and the new interface of “The Show” itself makes this game a great buy. The only thing that I miss from the previous game is the pitch location when you guess the pitch type and location, so now when you guess the pitch and location, you still have to guess if you want to swing or not. All in all though, I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend to all baseball fans.

I own MLB 2006 and 2007 for Ps2 and now i’ve got this 2008 for Ps3 and i tell you, There’s no comparasion with the the last two games.. The players are as real as they can be when coming to movement and looks. I agree with one who wrote here that batting has become difficult, in All Stars and Hall of Fame levels and, in all levels fouls frecuency has increased a lot. you dont feel the security you used to have when batting with a slugger than you have in ps2 versions. And what i hate the most , They eliminated the HOme run derby and the King of the diamond mode, where you could try the pitchers and batters in action before make any trade…Anyway a PS3 system has given another dimension to this game and that’s the big difference….Buy it if you’re a baseball fan,it;s addictive.

GBA SP Classic NES Edition
At first look, you might think the Game Boy Advance SP is a sleek travel alarm clock; when closed, it’s just as tall and deep as the original GBA, but only half as wide. Its clamshell design protects the screen from everyday scratches. Open it up and the hinge will seek out a preferred, pre-set angle (about 150 degrees), though you can open it a bit wider or narrower for your own comfort. The hinge stands up well to lateral pressure.

Many decried the original GBA’s reflective LCD screen and its reliance on external light sources. The Game Boy Advance SP’s main feature–optional built-in lighting–fixes this complaint nicely. The quality of the backlighting is very good; it’s bright and clear when looking directly at the screen, though less so from other angles.

The SP comes with a power adapter that recharges a built-in lithium battery; our informal tests found that it takes about four hours to fully charge (you can play it while it’s plugged in and charging), and the battery lasts about 11 hours with the backlighting constantly on. Using the backlighting less often will conserve battery power.

Size, power, and affordability don’t come without trade offs, though. There’s no headphone jack here–you’ll need a separately sold adapter–and the system isn’t very loud at its highest volume. The L and R shoulder buttons are a fraction of the size they were on the GBA, and thus are harder to hit, and the reduced size of the SP is slightly less comfortable for adult hands than the GBA. The cartridge port placement on the lower part of the console is fine for GBA games, since they are flush with the console body, but older Game Boy Color carts will stick out in a way that takes some getting used to.

Overall, the SP is a significant improvement on, and seems just as rugged as, its predecessor–which has proven to be very rugged indeed. –Porter B Hall

Customer Review: Oh boy I wish I still had mine!
I sold my GBA SP Classic NES edition to help pay for my Nintendo DS. I really like the DS but oh boy do I miss this beauty of a machine.

Let’s get the moans out of the way, yes the GBA SP only had a front light and not a proper back light so the screen isn’t as colourful as the DS. And yes, you had to pay extra for an adapter if you wanted to use headphones. But stuff that, this thing is amazing and I miss my old one!

So why was it so good? Well the design was spot one. I get finger burn and cramps from my DS light and my PSP when I try to play racing games, never got any pain from the GBA SP. Also this was the last portabl console to have the traditional Gameboy style layout of control buttons under the screen (instead of either side like the Lynx, GG, GBA, Neo Geo, DS & PSP). For some reason I find this layout better, don’t ask me why it just is. Some truths are as unedinable as they are unquontifiable!

Next up: the NES design is a winner, easily the best looking console I’ve owned. The DS lite is sleek but this baby had charm. The light weight clam shell design is very small indeed and easily fits into any pocket I ever had. Also the battery life took a mighty wacking on many occassions.

But the main reason I loved this console was the games. The great titles just kept coming and coming. I was getting a soar neck from trying to angle my old GBA under a lamp to see them. The GBA SP meant I could actually enjoy my games without hurting myself, which I think you will agree makes a nice bonus!

Advance Wars, Mario Golf Advance, Sonic Advance, FIre Emblem, Metroid Fusion, Wario Ware Twisted, Aria of Sorrow, Golden Sun and Astro Boy are as good as the best any system has to offer. In fact I argue that the GBA has a lot more AAA titles then the N64, the Cube, the Xbox or any of the current gen consoles. I still play many of the GBA RPGs and SRPGs on my DS as they are yet to be bettered. But some how they doesn’t quite feel the same as they did on the GBA SP NES edition. If you’ve got one KEEP IT!

Customer Review: one of the best!
I bought one of these the day it was released and I had so much fun with it and had some cracking games for it, notably Zelda! The handheld looks gorgeous, even today, its light and can easily store it in your pocket when not using it! I sadly no longer had it as I got a psp and a DS Lite, and I got to say, for a upgrade from the GBA SP, you got to get the DS Lite, as that can play the GBA games too as well as the many great DS titles that are available to own, but the GBA is still a greta buy today if you just want a handheld with no special features like touch screen. The GBA has a lot of games from all different types to offer and so you can’t go wrong with this beauty!

This is easy to use, light to carry and the fully charged battery lasts for around 16 hours when set on low screen brightness. The two screens are really handy as it saves flipping back and forth between modes as in some GBA games or adds extra elements in others. The touch screen is fun and adds an extra dimension to game-play over the gameboy advance. The wi-fi connectivity allows game play with friends and connection to the internet to play with other Nintendo gamers. There is a calendar, a clock and an alarm. It has built in stereo speakers and a microphone socket. Overall I think it is excellent value for money (these days) and great fun to use.

I bought my PS3 and all the bits to get my GT5 Prologue working on my 1080p tv and was disappointed…

The PS3 was fine playing a Blu-Ray movie, but even the opening credits on Gran Turismo we just breaking up all the time. I did a lot of reading and the whole debate about how a $10 cable will do the same as a $70 on etc… well I ditched this cable for a Monster 1000hdmi and guess what.. now I have flawless audio and display in 1080p with not even a hint of a problem.

If you are having a similar problem, you will have to make up your own mind. I don’t think the build quality of this cable is that good and given the movies work and game didn’t, I am more like to believe that it just wasn’t capable bandwidth wise to do the job.

I purchased a new HD 1080 TV and a playstation 3 a couple of months ago. I was using a Belkin HDMI cable I purchased for both cable tv and the PS3, switching back and forth whenever I wanted to use the other device. I decided to purchase this cable since the price was so low (compared to the 45 dollars for the Belkin) and since it had good reviews. I received the cable and plugged it in right away. To be as nice as I can, the quality was terrible. It was grainy and had a lot of static in the picture. I switched between the Belkin and this cable to make sure it wasn’t a poor port or something else but everything I tried led back to this cable. DO not buy this. It is not worth the price and you will end up with an inferior product and a terrible picture. Luckily amazon let me return the cable however I am now without a HDMI cable for even longer!

Pitfall : The Mayan Adventure
Pitfall Harry is back. Well, sort of. He’s been kidnapped, and this time his son is exploring and adventuring in his stead. Pitfall is fondly remembered as one of the first real hits on the Atari 2600 game system way back in the early 80s; Harry then reappeared in new adventures on the PC, PlayStation and Super Nintendo, among others. Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure is a direct port of these games, and you’ll find it enhanced slightly, but mostly the same as previous versions.

The game’s a 2-D side-scrolling adventure in which Harry Jr. is on a mission to recover artefacts, gold, treasure, his dad and other goodies from the South American jungle. There must have been an explosion in a major cache somewhere, because this stuff is sitting in trees, on the ground and in subterranean locations. Harry and Harry Jr likely mugged Indiana Jones because they’re wearing his outfit and his whip. They also find lots of snakes and go on a mine car ride in this game. Hmm.

But the lack of originality doesn’t matter that much because the gameplay is pretty good overall. Harry Jr must run and jump over quicksand and the gaping maws of crocodiles, swing on vines, climb ropes, and fight chattering skeletons and chittering monkey foes in his quest. He also has to solve a few puzzles along the way.

While the graphics are enhanced in 32-bit finery for the Game Boy Advance screen, the details and colours are muddy, making it hard to appreciate the lush environments. Seeing where you’re going and what you’re grabbing can be difficult, even with perfect lighting. Also, the game suffers from repetition and a lack of inspiration. There’s only so much Harry Jr can do, and you’ll find him doing it a lot, over and over. Still, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure is a worthwhile romp on the handheld even if it is outshone a little by other, cleaner-looking launch titles. –Andrew S Bub

This is one of the best games i have ever played. It reminds me of Tomb Raider. It is the same feeling when i first played Tomb Raider on the PC. The puzzles are intuitive and never dull. This game is pushing the technology of the GBA to good use. I think that it needs more umph in the action department but it will keep you thinking for the whole journey to work.

Following a strong introduction sequence, it’s quickly down to the action in the Game Boy Advance version of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. For unlike the Game Boy Color version, the game kicks off with Harry already at Hogwarts, and with some fast learning to do. You step into Harry’s shoes, initially moving from classroom to classroom learning new skills and spells, before indulging in activities such as sneaking out of your dormitory at night, fighting off trolls and having a quick game of Quidditch too. You certainly can’t accuse the developers of trying to short-change the fans, as it seems they’ve tried to cram as much of the film into the game.

Unfortunately, that’s also at the root of the game’s main problem. While it tries to cover all angles of the plot, it does mean that some segments of the game lack a little polish, and aren’t always that enjoyable. Sure, there’s some great fun to be had with the game, and the quality of the graphics means players will instantly relate it to the film. It’s just that perhaps a little more development time could have paid dividends. Nonetheless, fans of both the film and books are likely to get some enjoyment out of the game, even if arguably it’s inferior to the Game Boy Color version. And if you’re not overwhelmed by Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, you can wager on one certainty–this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Mr Potter on the Game Boy Advance… –Simon Brew

When I ordered this game from Amazon, I thought it was going to be an okay average games. Too wrong I was: you begin the came by attending your first defence against the dark arts lesson and then once your spell is learnt you do a tricky challenge. Over 10 amazing challenges requiring alot of brainpower. Includes everything a gameboy game requires: skill, patience and determination. It took me a month to get past the prefects but well worth the wait! The hardest challenge is the last challenge, fighting Voldemort. I won’t reveal any more secrets but definitely a MUST PLAY game!

I bought this for my 7 year, which may have been a little ambitious, as the game does get more difficult the more levels you complete, but she was perfectly happy to play on it. Firstly you penguin is sent on various missions, but has to complete the training first. The training is easy and your penguin has to complete a downhill race with obsticles in your way to jump over. Once done, you are sent to see Marty, Alex, Gloria and Melman to get objects from them so you can escape from the Zoo to the South Pole. They in turn will send you on other missions to get something for them. This missions take you all over the Zoo, but you are not allowed to be seen by either the Park keepers or other humans. There are various things to help you, candy canes, so you can go along the gutters, fizzy drinks bottles which will lift you higher than jumping etc. There are also dangers, Smaller animals,like spiders and scorpions, but they are easily dealt with by punching them. The game is fun, but for younger gamers could be difficult in places. For older gamers, they might find that the repeated levels are boring. They may also find it unchallenging. I would say the games is ideal for 7-10yrs.

I bought this game for my 7 year daughter, which may have been a bit ambitious as occaisionally she passed the game to me to play. Your penguin is trained and then is sent on a number of missions to get various objects from, Gloria, Alex, Melman and Marty, they in turn want something which you have to get first. The story centres mainly around the zoo. The penguins are trying to escape but need a number of objects before they go. If you do not complete the levels then you will not be able to go any further into the game until you do. For each mission you are given specialist equipment! Like a pair of candy walking canes, and these will help you across the guttering etc, also fizzy drink bottles will help you to go higher. By the way these penguins can run and jump, but for swimming they need a rubber ring! The levels get more complicated and my daughter got lost when she had to 'whack' 20 birds, as they are high up in the trees and finding them can get confusing. This must all be done without the zoo wardens or any of the visitors seeing you, but there are plenty of places to hide. The game is relatively un-challenging for older, more experienced gamers, but is perfectly suitable for the young and new gamers. I would say the age range is 6-8yrs if they are new to the Gameboy.

The game is fun and a controller is a controller, but I would like to comment on the fantastic customer service I received from Amazon. My “One Click” account information was incorrect and when I used it to order my controllers they were shipped to my old address.

The Amazon rep worked so hard and stayed with my order to try and resolve the shipping mistake that I made. In the end they cancelled the original order and sent me a new set so that me and my kids would not have to wait to use the extra set of controllers with our friends.

GTA advance is a great game. A lot like the original GTA and GTA 2. It plays by birds-eye view. There are loads of great missions, including taxi, racing, ambulance, police etc. and the normal missions. This GTA does not have all the new gta features. It has a small variety of cars and tanks, but does not have motorbikes or any planes etc. Like the original GTA’s you sink and die in water. I highly recommend this game for GTA fans though, its a great pass time, hopefully they will make a 3d version soon - a bit like driver 2.

OK so I love GTA as much as the next person, I’ve spent a good part of the last few years wired up to my ps2 trying to complete the lastest installments - so I do know a bit of what I’m talking about, and GTA for the GBA is really NOT what you want. OK, so its on the GBA and maybe you dont expect much, but what you DO expect is the same vibe and storyline that has been around since the dawn of the very Grand Theft Auto. This is a shoddy excuse for a game, the dodgy graphics dont make this a bad game alone, its mostly down to the lousy storyline. You don’t need a powerful games console to have a good story that keeps you hooked - so these guys really have no excuse.

Absolutely brilliant console. Ultra-photo-realistic graphics, easy-to-cope-with controls, AND compatible with almost every PS2 game and some PS1 games as well. It plays Blu-Ray and normal DVDs (and is half the price of a Blu-Ray player), CDs and can also connect to the internet with a built-in modem. Overall, FANTASTIC! Having got this console for christmas along with Resistance Fall of Man, Call of Duty 4 and Ratchet and Clank I can honestly say this console is an absolute gem! The sighn up process to Playstation Network was very simple and after creating my unique user name I was read to start using the Playstation store, browsing the internet and best of all free online gaming! In my honest opinion I found the online gaming on the Playstation Network a lot more stable and lag-free than xbox live, I know a majority of games on PS3 use dedicated servers instead of peer-to-peer networking. Voice and video chat is a fantastic feature. It plays blu ray moives in amazing 1080p fantastically and so far all of my PS1 and PS2 games have been fully playable on it. I recently bought GTA IV, Uncharted and Gran Turismo Prologue and they are the best graphics I have ever seen on any console/computer in my life even on 720p. The game libary is slowly expanding with lots of fantastic games out soon. The machine it self runs brilliantly, quietly and looks fantastic. It is a fantastic multi-media hub as well as a top of the range games machine, the online play is superb, Haze and Killzone 2 are my next games on my list. I reconmend this console to everyone.

The Game Boy Advance features power that would have been unthinkable back when the original Game Boy was launched. Its 32-bit RISC CPU runs circles around the former machine’s 8-bit workhorse, allowing it to process program instructions much faster. What that means to everyday gamers is more intricate visuals, more simultaneous movement on the screen, and better sound. In fact, the often-annoying bleeps and bloops of old-school Game Boy titles are being replaced with digitised stereo sound. When you first pick up the system, you’ll notice how lightweight it is. It’s a little less than 150 grams, but a little larger than a deck of playing cards. The GBA’s wider shape fits better into a wider range of hands, and the screen is fitted with antiglare technology–you need pretty good light to play by, but you won’t be craning your neck and tilting the unit to see around the reflection of the light bulb in your screen.

You’ll also notice the graphics. Essentially sporting redesigned SNES technology, you’ll see things on the GBA that the big consoles do, such as scaling (making objects larger or smaller) and rotation effects–technological advances that will affect the look of everything from crossing a finish line to scoring a goal to crawling through a dungeon. The extra processing muscle also means you can network up to four Game Boy Advance units together, via the communication cable, for multiplayer fun from one shared cartridge. The GBA maybe showing its age against the DS and PSP but it’s still a decent portable gaming system and there’s nearly always something for everyone here. The handheld has a large list of games plus it can play older Game Boy and Game Boy Color titles giving you access to a massive library of games to choose from. If you have the right cables you can link up with other GBA’s to play multiplayer games and even link up with the Gamecube on certain games. The only major problem with the system is the lack of a back light display which means that if you play the GBA in a poorly lit place you won’t see very much. There are ways around this (worm light, afterburner…) but you are worried about this I recommend getting the GBA SP or a DS instead. If you are looking for a cheap portable gaming system, you won’t go far wrong with the GBA. Get some decent rechargeable batteries and bus/train journeys will never be the same again.
Customer Review: Good system for the kids
This is an OK first game system for the kids. it will keep them amused for some time, although, if you are used to the screen lighting up, this is not for you. but once you get used to that, you can enjoy the console, plus the ability to link to other users can take you to another level, so long as you have the same game !!!!

Rayman Advance is perhaps the first real must-play Game Boy Advance game available. It’s a full conversion of the PlayStation classic brought to life in vivid detail with level-by-level optimisations, gorgeous graphics, large, detailed and well-animated characters and that patented Rayman gameplay that Ubi Soft has been delivering for years now.

Those unfamiliar with the character and story should expect yet another cute take on the 2-D side-scrolling adventure game but Rayman easily stands alongside Mario in terms of brilliance. Rayman, a cute, big-nosed guy with a pompadour fringe and an infectiously upbeat attitude, is the Guardian of the World. Oddly, he has hands and feet but no arms or legs to support them–but that doesn’t stop him from doing his thing. His powers include jumping, clinging to ledges, using his ears as a helicopter, and most importantly, punching. A helpful fairy doles out these powers to you as you complete tasks and progress in the game. Rayman’s task, as usual, is to defeat enemies and free creatures (called Toons) caught in great iron boxes. He also collects “tings”, which he can use to barter with magicians as he rids his bizarre little world of oppression from the likes of colourful bosses Moskito and big bad Space Mama.

The most striking thing about Rayman Advance is its graphics and gameplay. The design is extremely creative, there are things to bounce on, ride and grab and other tricks to do. It’s the sort of game that always has you doing something new, which is no mean feat considering it spans 60 levels. A first rate 2-D platform game for all ages. –Andrew S Bub

Customer Review: A classic conversion of the PS1 game.
Try telling people that Rayman Adavcne is an almost perfect conversion of the original playstaion platformer, and theyll shake theyre heads in disbelief. But it’s true! One one tiny cart lives a game that can trade punches with it’s home console counterpart, and still come out on top. The smaller screen may hinder the game in some respects, but what you’re looking at is a retina feast. And while it may all seem incredibly sweet on the surface, the playing expierience is anything but, offering a masterclass in side-scrolling platform gaming. The story, which propels Rayman through sixty levels and six worlds, in unchanged. Mr Dark, a masked villain, has invaded Raymans world and kidnapped the Toons. From here follows a journey across perilous terrain to mind the missing toons and rid the world of Mr Dark and his merry band of malcontants. And only Rayman is up for the job! Despite the games visual style and originality, the process of beating the game is very traditional, with power-ups, collectibles, and regular boss fights. Dont let this put yoou off because, when it’s done as well as Rayman Advance, it’s an absolute pleasure to play. At the beginning of the game Rayman has very few powers - bar jumping and doing farts - and you’ll probably feel restricted by his lack of moves. But before long new abilities are added to his repertoire, including a powerful punch move and the skills to climb, swing, grapple and hover. Using the moves turns out to be top fun, due to the tight controls and excellent character animations. And from the first experiments with the super-flexible punch move, you know you’ve got a very special game in the palm of your hand. In the long term Rayman’s slow start helps, because at the start you’ll wander around seeing many things you can’t reach and you realize when you have the right move, you can come back and get there. All in all a very long and fun rewarding quest.

I’d never played Rayman before so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. As far as I’m concerned, this is one awesome game. I have quite a few GBA games now but this is one that I keep returning to. There’s so much in here to keep you interested and the attention to detail is amazing - just when you think you’ve got the game sussed, there’s always something new popping up! Great graphics, slightly dodgy soundtrack, first-class gameplay. Rayman rules! No arguments!

This is a fantastic game! The fun factor of this is an all high!! Every level, every enemy, every boss, every item, its all fun to see and to use and to fight against!! This is probably, excluding the new super mario bros game for the ds, is one of the best super mario bros games and games of all time! This is a 13 year old title but it is so much better than certain games that are released today!! Seriously saving the Princess hasn’t been so much fn before!!!!

Game Boy Advance Console - White The Game Boy Advance features power that would have been unthinkable back when the original Game Boy was launched. Its 32-bit RISC CPU runs circles around the former machine’s 8-bit workhorse, allowing it to process program instructions much faster. What that means to everyday gamers is more intricate visuals, more simultaneous movement on the screen, and better sound. In fact, the often-annoying bleeps and bloops of old-school Game Boy titles are being replaced with digitised stereo sound. When you first pick up the system, you’ll notice how lightweight it is. It’s a little less than 150 grams, but a little larger than a deck of playing cards. The GBA’s wider shape fits better into a wider range of hands, and the screen is fitted with antiglare technology–you need pretty good light to play by, but you won’t be craning your neck and tilting the unit to see around the reflection of the light bulb in your screen.

You’ll also notice the graphics. Essentially sporting redesigned SNES technology, you’ll see things on the GBA that the big consoles do, such as scaling (making objects larger or smaller) and rotation effects–technological advances that will affect the look of everything from crossing a finish line to scoring a goal to crawling through a dungeon. The extra processing muscle also means you can network up to four Game Boy Advance units together, via the communication cable, for multiplayer fun from one shared cartridge. Customer Review: ok but misleading image of product
Apparently this console is just an upgrade of game boy color console and it isn’t built with lcd light screen until the sp came out. But GBC is more comfortable to hold than the gba. It’s quite deceiving because the image they published on the boxes on both console (gbc and gba)shows that they have a bright light screen, but until u purchased it or read the description - however images always has a great influence in whether u want to buy the product and then you find out it it not what you expected, which is misleading. Though it is a good console.

I am a Nintendo fan boy. I’ve tried to get help but it just gets worse.
But even I freely confess that Nintendo pulled a dirty trick with the original GBA.
The games were fantastic, Advance Wars was reason enough to own a GBA all by itself. But how were you supposed to play it when you couldn’t see a thing? The screen was dark and incredibly reflective. In most lighting conditions the graphics were completely invisible.
I tried various ‘light accessories’ but they were all junk (even those recommended by offical magazines). But that’s not the end of my GBA woes, the D pad was blister-enducingly tiny and the other buttons were pretty nasty clacky affairs.
The GBA was a broken product that should never have been commercially released. The only reason to own one is if you are a Nintendo crazed completist collector.
