Customer Review: Sonic returns and does it in style!
Here I am reviewing yet another Sonic game and I must say that he nevers fails to disappoint me. Sonic Advance 2 fars surpasses its first outing with graphics, moves and new characters. One good thing I noticed was that you only had Sonic at the beginning and you had to unlock the other four, Cream the rabbit and her Chao Cheese, Tails the two tailed fox, Knuckles the echidna and finally Amy Rose the pink hedgehog. This offered challenge as you had to fight Eggman in order to play as your friends. The game offers much more tactical moves in order to help you reach higher places or to find secret items or simply to survive. Such as when you are flying through the air and you want to get to a far off platform, you can press both the direction you are heading and the R button and you will gain a small bit of speed to help get there. The acts and zones are much longer than Sonic Advance which gives you more room to explore and makes it more challenging to find the seven special rings which take you to the special stages in order to find the seven Choas Emeralds. The boss fights with Eggman have been completely changed. Now you are constantly running and Eggman has a huge machine and has many traps to attack you. Rings appear as you run so use them wisely. He is no push over as some of the bosses have very weel been thought of and it also depends on which character you are using. In my opinion Cream is the best character ti use. Now with the characters. As usual Sonic is the fastest character, good jumper and has aerobatic moves. Sonic can be used to clear the acts of the zones quickly and to get rid of enemies that can be annoying. These are his advantages, his disadvantages are that it can be hard to find secret things as him since he is very fast and does not have abilities to let him reach high places such as Tails and Cream have their abilty to fly and Knuckles can glide and climb up walls. Sonic can also have a hard time battling against Eggman’s bosses. However, Sonic is still of the of the best characters. Now, onto our new characters, Cream the rabbit and her trusty Chao friend Cheese. Most people assume that Cream isn’t a very good character because of her appearance but do not judge a book by its cover as Cream shows this. First of all, she is not like Amy in Sonic Advance, Cream has a good running speed and when she jumps she also rolls into a ball like Sonic, Tails and Knuckles while Amy cold not do this. Cream can also fly by flapping her ears, Cream is a faster flyer than Tails but you have more control over Tails and he has a longer amount of time in the air. Cream attacks by using Cheese, which is brilliant as you can send Cheese to attack as long as Cream is close to an robot. Cream can also use Cheese as a shield when she jumps. Creams disadvantages are mainly the fact that she can get hit easily. Cream is the best character to use when battling Eggman as she does not have to get to close to him by send Cheese to attack. Cream is on of the best characters in the game. Probably the most popular character in the series is the one and only Miles “Tails” Prowler. As you all know Tails is known for his ability to fly. He may not be as fast as Cream when she flys but he has better control and can stay in the air longer. Tails have useful attacks using his tails and also his jumping moves. When he flys his tails can be used to attack enemies in the air. Tails has a good running speed a bit behind Knuckles and a little over Cream. Tails disadvantages are that he is very vunerable when in the air and can get hit very easily and since he cannot move that fast in the air he can get hit by traps easily. Knuckles is the most powerful character in the game. He has an excellent running speed behind Sonic and has very useful abilities. His ability to glide over the platforms and to climb up walls can really help you in tight spots. He can jump high and can use his punches to get robots out of the way. Anything that is in front of Knuckles when he glides can be attacked. His disadvantage is that he is probably the hardest to control which can make it annoying to find the special rings and secret places. I can’t comment on Amy as I haven’t unlocked her yet but she was a good character in Sonic Advance so I think that she will be better off in this one. The bad thing about Sonic Advance 2 is that it is a little too challenging for its own taste. The seven special rings are a nightmare to find, and if you die you lose them all so you would have to go back and find them again. Also the same with Sonic Advance is that you can move so fast that you don’t notice the traps on the ground or the empty spaces that plummet you to your death (the annoying Sky Cannon zone). These are just minor though as you don’t really notice them as you have nothing but just high speed and jumping fun with these four (remember I haven’t unlocked Amy yet) amazing characters wuth their own set of unique moves!

Hostel Part II [UMD for PSP]
With repulsion levels at least comparable to Cannibal Holocaust, Herschell Gordon Lewis’ Blood Feast, and other gory slasher landmarks, Eli Roth’s Hostel 2 reconfigures ideas of violence to test how down and dirty a horror film can get. The film raises the stakes, leaving those who wish to make a sicker film out in the lurch for the time being. This sequel, like the first Hostel, is set in and around a Slovakian factory where European students are kidnapped, tortured, and killed by rich businessmen who pay enormous sums to experience death firsthand. An international elite, all tattooed with a bulldog insignia, bid on young people to slaughter in a mob-organized, high-end, sex-slave trade catering to those with a death fetish. In Hostel 2, three girls from Rome, Beth (Laura German), Whitney (Bijou Phillips), and Lorna (Heather Matarazzo), are lured to Slovakia by a sultry, vampiric hottie (Vera Jordonova) who modeled for them in figure drawing class. Sidetracked and disoriented by some Pagan Slovakian festivals and luxurious hot springs, the girls slip away one by one, until the film moves inside the torture chambers. One client sits in a bathtub beneath her victim, who she slices with a scythe to bathe in blood, Elizabeth Bathory-style. Body parts fly as clients entering the facilities select their weapons of choice in a room full of knives, power tools, and rubber clothing. As ridiculous as it sounds, haunting soundtrack and cinematography set a disturbing mood. Morbid humor, for example when a chainsaw unplugs centimeters from a victim’s face, pays homage to Hostel 2’s schlocky predecessors. Fortunately, one survivor remains, providing an ounce of vengeful, and sexy, satisfaction. As in the best exploitation films, gratuitous sex and violence are the norm here. What will be a warning to some to avoid this gruesome movie will be to others a cue to head straight to the theater. –Trinie Dalton

Customer Review: Still unimpressed by Roth’ “abilities”
It’s difficult to review something like this without spouting out the boring and cliche “OH MAN I’VE SEEN IT ALL AND YOU CAN’T SHOCK ME, THIS WASN’T GORY” But in one respect, it’s true: I’ve seen quite a lot in my 23 years, in film and real life, so to disturb me, to make me cringe you have to really search for the right nerve to strike because I don’t think mine are like everyone else’s; the one’s who think Jigsaw is so evil, and blah blah blah. This wasn’t not a gory film, in it’s context; it’s a mainstream horror movie, so showing a guy get his johnson snipped off is a bit more than the people who flocked to Return of the King are used to seeing. Nothing in this film made me cringe though, I’ve seen worse as far as genital amputation’s go (Germany’s Cannibal, which is basically disposable trash.) and just like the first in the series the use of music was really, REALLY, obnoxious, and those are one of my nails-on-the-chalkboard cinematic pet peeves; exploitation of the soundtrack to build suspense. The atmosphere was decent, the ambiance almost spot on, but then that stupid Michael Bay-ish music comes in and kills it. Roth seems to want to make true horror films, ones that don’t entertain but scar most people, but he’s got to realize in order to do something like that, more or less, you have to work away from the system, away from caring about if you get an R or NC-17; but, alas, he can’t seem to come to terms with that. All the films of the past that have really kicked people where it counts have been independent; Last House on the Left & Cannibal Holocaust immediately come to mind, and more recently stuff like Murder-Set-Pieces. I tried, tried, to enjoy this in, again, the context where it finds itself, but I just couldn’t. I understand, people are evil, and no matter how much they seem to be caring and sweet and like an extra out of High School Musical they can turn into vicious blood thirsty beasts, unworthy of sympathy or compassion; this isn’t Straw Dogs, though, and the message falls flat. Thus far Roth is 0-3 in my book, so chances are any further efforts will simply be passed over. At least the Bathory thing was at least semi-cool, but not by much. 2007 is apparently the “year of don’t bother going to the theater” I sincerely hope Eastern Promises, There Will be Blood & No Country for Old Men don’t follow this chain.

the first film sucked and this one is worst. there wasnt any part of the movie that made me wanna look at it. while watching it i kept on viewing the minutes left. this movie sucks really bad dont recommend to no one. but everyone is different. i wouldnt sell this movie if i got 2x as much. worst ever

Customer Review: 2 great, addictive puzzle games
If you own a GBA (or SP or Micro or DS!), ‘Chu Chu Rocket’ really is a must have! Like all the best puzzle games, it has a very simple premise – guide space mice into your rocket by placing arrow tiles on the floor while avoiding the space cats. That is as complicated as it gets in 1 player mode but where this game really comes into its own is with the fast and furious 4 player modes. These can be played either with 4 linked consoles (only one cart required) or just against 3 computer opponents. As well as guiding the mice to your own rocket, you can take them from your opponents and must keep an eye on what everyone is up to! Also on this cartridge is an updated version of the classic Sega Tetris-style puzzler ‘Columns’ as ‘Columns Crown’. There is a best-ignored story based on finding jewels for a crown (that may appeal to young girls but otherwise just gets in the way really!) and the game isn’t too much like the original ‘Columns’ but is still a great game where you have to line up jewels of the same colour and set off chain reactions. There is a good variety of modes available although it is always quick and challenging… possibly too hard at first but you soon get used to using special attacks and lining up the chain reactions. This double pack is great value with 2 very good puzzlers although perhaps the games are a little too similar if you just want to take one cartridge out with you. It might be a better idea to get the ‘Chu Chu Rocket’ and ‘Sonic Advance’ double pack for a bit more variety. Saying that, other than the annoying story mode, ‘Columns Crown’ is also a great game and will keep any puzzle game fan occupied for hours at a time!
