Choosing the right guitar is always a problem for beginners. Everyone wants to look good while and feel comfortable while playing a guitar. The first decision is always choosing between acoustic guitars and electric guitars. Knowledge of both guitars can make it easier to make the decision on which guitar to buy.

A straightforward difference is the amplification between the two type of guitars.

Acoustic guitars have hollow body, which amplifies the vibrations from the strings. These guitars are restricted in shape and side, which also plays a huge difference on the sound it generates. An acoustic guitars does not have the wider choosing option. You can either get a steel string or a nylon string guitar. Steel strings are used for country rock music and nylon strings are used to play folk, flamenco and classical songs.

A simple difference between steel and nylon string is that the steel is louder than the nylon.

An electric guitar has pickups, which are steel bars wrapped with wire that hear the vibrations formed by the strings and then sends these signals to an amplifier and are also much easier to play. Purchasing an electric guitar can be rather expensive, because you will also have to purchase a good amp.

People have been looking at a blended guitar, blended as in a guitar which has qualities of both acoustic and electric guitars. As you are the one who is learning to play, you should always go for your own preference. Most people have said that starting to play guitar with acoustic makes it easier to play electric, whereas there are some guitars which are hard to play such as classical guitars, basically because of the shape and size.
